Our Faculty
Emilie Christian Day School is blessed to have highly trained and experienced teachers in all of the early childhood education classes offered at our facility.
Our entire faculty is degreed and work as a team in meeting the goals for creating quality learning experiences within a child care center, which has led them to great success in achieving a star 4 rating (highest rating possible) through Keystone Stars.
Creative, Kind and Kid Focused
Praise for our teachers not only comes through their academic and performance achievements, but for what they bring each and every day into the lives of the children they interact with and instruct.
They recognize that each child is their own person and learns in their own way. The teachers at our Christian school provide an education foundation for young learners in a fun and interactive way as well as help each child with the individual “building blocks” they need to grow and learn in a way that creates a child’s own learning ladder. The teachers and assistants are active in helping children learn Christian values through teachable moments (e.g. sharing, helping your friend if they fall down, being considerate of your classmates feelings, etc.) that occur through the children’s day- to-day experiences.
Our teachers believe in open communication with parents and care givers. Daily feedback notes are provided at the toddler level to give milestone updates; preschooler, and pre-k classes receive class messaging with individual communication as needed. This communication on your child’s day provides a window into their world. Parent-Teacher conferences are offered throughout the school year and all faculty and staff are accessible to discuss concerns or the latest happenings at the school.
Enthusiastic Educators
Jennifer Thompson
Executive Director
Jennifer Thompson
I am thrilled to be the Executive Director of Emilie Christian Day School. Although I began my journey here at Emilie in February 2021, I started in the Early Childhood Education field in 2006 as a toddler teacher as well as a preschool teacher, eventually moving into an administrative role. I spend most of my time with my two loving children, Devon and Anthony as well as my husband Bryant. I finished my Bachelor’s degree from Temple University majoring in Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12.
During my almost many years of experience in the field, I also obtained my PA Keys Directors’ Credential to continue to provide high quality care to those I serve. I serve on two boards in our local area including the advisory board for the Occupational Advisory Committee for the Bucks County Technical High School in their Child Development Shop as well as holding an executive position on the Bucks County Chapter of Pennaeyc. It is my goal to continue to implement Emilie’s mission for the school “to help children to learn to love God and each other, to grow into caring, responsible citizens, and to become the best people they can be”. I enjoy warm days outside and day trips to the beach. I also love a good cup of coffee on the run!
Lynne Brooks
Director of Operations
A little about myself…
My journey into the wonderful world of childcare began in 1996 when my first child attended preschool. I spent more time playing, reading books, and coloring with the children during drop-offs and pick-ups, that the director at the time took a chance on a very young mother and offered me a position as a classroom aide. I fell in love with the profession and eventually went to college to earn my associate’s degree in early childhood education from Manor College. Throughout the various paths my career as a teacher took me down, I was promoted to Director-in-Training and eventually became Center Director at a major corporate childcare center. Enjoying the administrative side of the field, I returned to obtain my Director’s Credential and Childcare Leadership Specialized degree from Northampton College. Thanks to the generosity of the TEACH program, I now hold my bachelor’s degree in Childcare Administration from Manor College. My journey has been eventful and rewarding, mainly because I can make a difference in a child’s life and also enrich the families who come to see me for advice.
When I am not working, I am advocating for different causes that are dear to me, such as children, Parkinson’s Disease, Polycythemia Vera Cancer, and cats. I am from Philadelphia but have moved many times throughout Pennsylvania and Florida. I am a huge Outlander fan, love reading and history, and not a fan of food, but am a self-proclaimed wine sommelier!
I am so very lucky and excited to be a part of the Emilie Christian Day School administration team. I cannot wait to meet you and your family!!

Hello, my name is Shekira Bradwell I've been working as a lead Pre K teacher, at ECDS since 2020. I love being a part of a school wherein Christian values are welcomed and is the foundation in which educating our children begins with. Prior to being employed at Emilie I was lead Pre K teacher under the umbrella of the Philadelphia School District for several years. During my time there I returned to grad school at Temple Ambler to further my education in Career and Technology Education. While at Temple, I learned several new concepts and models of teaching that are centered on teaching to the whole child. With my past experiences throughout my teaching career and my education I bring a vast knowledge that enhances the development of the children in my class socially, emotionally and academically....teaching to the whole child. Speaking of children, I have two beautiful children, my pride and joy, which they will never let me forget it, lol. In my spare time I love cooking and brushing up on my skills as a new children’s author. There are four things I’m am very proud of, being a mother, a wife, obtaining my Masters Degree as a single mother from Holy Family and finally fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing and self publishing my very first children’s book, called Kammie and Me. As an educator, I live by this quote that I believe to be true… “To, Teach is to Learn Twice”.

Kat Cuniff
My name is Ms. Kat Cuniff! I grew up in South Philadelphia and moved to Levittown in 2020! I have been working in Early Childhood Education since 2005. I started my career working with a group of younger children painting and creating murals around the city. That’s when I decided my career path! I originally started this journey in art education and quickly changed that to Early Childhood Education because I loved the idea of integrating art into learning things like language and math. I have worked with a range of different ages from infancy all the way up to second grade. It’s too hard to pick my favorite age group especially since I have worked with so many different ages. There are so many reasons I love working with Pre-K such as the interesting conversations that can ignite from the smallest thing!
In my free time, I enjoy a lot of things like listening to music, hiking with my partner, gardening, reading, drawing, and weight-lifting. I love integrating a lot of my personal interest in the classroom! We listen to all different types of music throughout the day, take long walks and work on exercising our muscles. (Especially if we can’t get out!) I don’t have any kids yet but I have 3 cats which I adore, Jawn-sie, Yo-sie, and Bootsy.

I have worked professionally with children for over 10 years, first as a dance instructor for ages 2.5-18 years and then additionally as an Assistant Preschool Teacher for ages 3-5 years. My favorite thing about the preschool ages is helping children gain independence and confidence in everything from sharing, problem-solving, self-help skills and beyond. Watching their personalities grow and shine is the biggest reward. When I’m not at work I am usually spending my time at the barn with my 2 horses, reading on the couch with my cat, or video-gaming with my husband. I look forward to meeting and working with all of the families and staff at Emilie!

My name is Latoya Maitland and I have been in childcare since 2005 and I love it. I love gardening in my personal time and all year round in the classroom. I am a mother of three and I love every bit of it, which motivates me to work in childcare. I enjoy teaching children and watching them grow into their own little people. I believe in children having a voice to express themselves bravely and allow them to be their own unique self, whether it’s singing loudly or dancing wildly, collecting rocks, or conquering their fears of insects. I have an Associates in Education and constantly seek new ways to keep current with the needs of children in and out of the classroom. I’ve been a part of the Emilie family for two years and feel blessed to be here, because my faith is very important to me and I can openly share the best part of me with others.

Barbara McGonigle
Barbara McGonigle here-aka. “Mrs. Mac” I began working at Emilie as an afternoon assistant while attending Bucks County Community College. After completing my studies at BCCC, I was hired as a full-time pre-school teacher and have worked with children aged 3 through 5 for many years. Teaching at ECDS has been my first and only job and I still love it! I was proud to be chosen as part of the “toddler team” when Emilie opened its program for 2-year-olds in 2010, and have continued to work with toddlers since then.
I grew up here in Levittown, married and raised a family in Bristol Borough and currently live in Willingboro with my husband Bob. We have 2 grown children, both living in the area with families of their own. I enjoy reading, going to yard sales and thrift shops with friends and camping with family. I’m not the greatest at playing guitar but I like to think I sing quite nicely and have written some pretty good songs. But topping my list of things I enjoy the most is spending time with my grandchildren.
Lianna Miksitz
My name is Lianna Miksitz, most of my family call me Lee. It is very exciting to be working at Emilie, I have a huge family and a lot of my younger cousins have attended Emilie throughout the years. I have been working in childcare since 2017 and I grew up with both my mom and aunt having their own at home Daycares, so I was constantly helping when I got home from school. I am a mom to a little girl named Karmella, she is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. One of my biggest achievements would have to be graduating from college at almost 7 months pregnant. It took me many years to complete my associates degree while working full time and doing school part time, so I am very proud of myself. I hope to continue my education while working at Emilie, it is a very important goal to me. While furthering my Early Childhood Education Pre-K through 4th degree I hope to minor in ASL or Speech Pathology. Eventually I would love to be a Pre-K teacher, but I will be ecstatic for any age in my own classroom. Again, I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to work at Emilie and I am excited to create great relationships with both children, staff, and parents.

Since graduating high school, I have been working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have just a few years left before reaching this goal! In the meantime (and while also working second jobs in grocery stores and restaurants), I have had the honor of working as a kindergarten teacher’s aid, preschool lead teacher, and middle school paraprofessional. Working in each of these roles has continued to confirm my life-long passion and love of working with children of all ages. In any free time, keeping up with my family keeps me busy! I am one of 5 sisters, am married into a large close-knit family, and have a cat named Pippin. I do enjoy reading when I get the chance (fantasy and classics are my favorite!). Currently I teach music, and School Age summer camp as well as being a closer during the school year. During the covid school closures, I was a virtual support teacher at Emilie for school age children who were online learners. I also teach K – 8 music at Hope Lutheran school.
Early in my teaching career, I taught 3rd grade in Jersey City New Jersey, and was waterfront director, camp director and eventually, owner of a day camp in New Jersey.
My husband and I have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and motorcycles. In my free time, I like fishing, riding, and camping.
My greatest joy is watching children light up with excitement when they discover something new.

God has always called me to ministry with children and youth, and my greatest joy is teaching others how much God loves them and that they are never alone. It is an honor to share that truth with others.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." —John 3:16
I’ve been married to my husband, Chris, since 2000, and we have two adult children. I enjoy spending time with loved ones, exploring nature with my camera, and finding ways to be creative.

Testimonials
When we began researching a daycare/school to enroll our daughter, my husband and I wanted a program that would offer an exceptional head start to her educational future as well as an environment of love and laughter; we found just that a Emilie Christian Day School!
My daughter was enrolled in the young toddler program last year, attended the summer program and is currently enrolled in the 2 year old, full day toddler class in the Sunshine Room and we couldn’t be more pleased. If there are questions that need to be answered, the teachers are there to answer them. IF there are any nerves that need to be quelled, either student or for parent…the teachers are there!
If you are looking for a place where your child will grow both academically, emotionally and in a supportive, loving environment, then look no further than Emilie Christian Day School.”

With my past experiences throughout my teaching career and my education I bring a vast knowledge that enhances the development of the children in my class socially, emotionally and academically....teaching to the whole child. Speaking of children, I have two beautiful children, my pride and joy, which they will never let me forget it, lol.

Watching their personalities grow and shine is the biggest reward. When I’m not at work I am usually spending my time at the barn with my 2 horses, reading on the couch with my cat, or video-gaming with my husband. I love gardening in my personal time and all year round in the classroom. I am a mother of three and I love every bit of it, which motivates me to work in childcare. I enjoy teaching children and watching them grow into their own little people. I have an Associates in Education and constantly seek new ways to keep current with the needs of children in and out of the classroom. I’ve been a part of the Emilie family for two years and feel blessed to be here, because my faith is very important to me and I can openly share the best part of me with others.

Music
I began teaching at Emilie after moving from North Jersey in 2006. I received my B.A. from Thomas Edison University in NJ.

Chapel
My name is Ms. Cindy Calderone (aka Chapel), and I have the privilege of leading Chapel at Emilie Christian Day School. I’ve been a member of Emilie United Methodist Church and involved in ministry here since my youth, even working at Emilie Christian Day School from 1997 to 2000.
